Elena Bulanova was born in Leningrad. She graduated from the N.A. Rymsky-Korsakov Musical School, and subsequently from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory's class for piano. While still a student at the Conservatory, she began her career at the Leningrad Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography (now the Saint Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy). She was the Musical Director in classes of Igor Vladimirov, Igor Gorbachev, Vladimir Petrov, Isaak Schtokbant. From 1987 until 2001, she was the Musical Director of the famous Petersburg Musical-Drama Theatre "Buff". Since 2001, Elena Bulanova has worked at the Saint Petersburg Theatre of Musical Comedy where she writes arrangements for plays (she has already written more than fifty arrangements). In addition, Elena Bulanova takes an active part in concerts and works with such leading Saint Petersburg composers as Victor Lebedev, Victor Pleshakov, Mark Samoylov and many others, and also with stage directors such as Alexander Belinsky, Isaak Shtokbant, and Alexander Isakov. In 2009 E.V. Bulanova was awarded a Medal for Services to the Fatherland (II Class). |






Elena Bulanova is a pianist and the assistant to the Principal Conductor of the Saint Petersburg Theatre of Musical Comedy.
