Denis Gromov was born in Sochi in 1974.
In 1989 he graduated from the children's music school named after I.A. Shmelev, class of N.V. Oleinikova.
From 1989 to 1993 he was a student of musical school of Sochi, his teachers there were T.Yu. Agafonova, E.Yu. Agafonov.
In 1999 he graduated from the Moscow State Conservatoire named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, the class of Professor E. Malinin, in 2001 he did his post-graduate training in the Conservatoire in the class of Associate Professor I.V. Osipova.
From 1992 to 2000 he was a Sochi Philharmonic soloist. He had also his solo concerts in cities of Russia, as well as Italy, Holland, Germany, and Hungary.
2000 - Special Prize at the II International competition of pianists named after A.N. Skryabin for the best performance of the late sonata by A.N. Skryabin (Moscow).
2001 – Recipient of the Prize in the International Competition named after K. Szymanovski in Lodz (Poland).
2002 – Prize Winner of the International competition of pianists in Rome "Roma-2002” (first prize).
2003 – Prize Winner of the International competition of pianists "Gargano- 2003” Italy (first prize).
2005 – Prize Winner of the International competition of pianists named after A.N. Skryabin in Grosseto, Italy (third prize).
