The true Jazz Patriarch Vladimir Feiertag embodies all the best that has been created in the art of Russian Jazz over the last half century. In the early 60 's, he began to make public lectures about jazz, was the first Soviet musicologists, who had received a status of lecturer-musicologist specializing in "Jazz", organized the first jazz Philharmonic season tickets in the country.
For many years Vladimir Feiertag was an Artistic Director and leader of the first Leningrad Jazz Festival "Autumn Rhythms", actively contributed to many other Russian jazz festivals. He also held a number of concerts of prominent foreign jazz musicians.
In addition to his lecturing and organizing activities, Vladimir Feiertag has an active publicist activity, writing for periodicals and scientific magazines articles and essays about jazz. He works closely with radio and television. Vladimir Feiertag is an author of many books and encyclopedic reference books about jazz.
At his anniversary evening the patriarch of the Jazz gild will be congratulated by "Jazz-Philharmonic Big band" under direction of S. Bogdanov and K.Bubyakin, Igor Butman, David Goloshchekin, Igor Bril, Andrei Kondakov, Sergey Manukyan, Alexei Popov, Andrei Ryabov, vocal group "Digest", Lera Gehner and other jazz musicians.
